About

Our Sustainable Systems Group (SSG) takes a whole-systems perspective to measuring sustainability in design, engineering and decision making. In particular, we use methods from industrial ecology to understand the full environmental footprint of products and activities. This allows us to determine what choices will lead to more sustainable outcomes in practice.

Our members form the Sustainable Systems theme of the University of Bath’s Institute for Sustainability.
